Naruto is an ongoing Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Masashi Kishimoto and first appeared in issue #43 of Weekly Shonen Jump back in 1999.
Serialized in Viz's Shonen Jump magazine, Naruto has become one of the company's best-selling manga series. As of volume 36, the manga has sold over 71 million copies in Japan.

Twelve years before the nine-tailed demon fox attacked Konohagakure. It was a powerful demon indeed; a single swing of one of its nine tails would raise tsunamis and flatten mountains. It raised chaos and slaughtered many people, until the leader of the Leaf Village - the Fourth Hokage - defeated it by sacrificing his own life to seal the demon inside a newly-born child, whose origins are as yet unknown. That child's name was Naruto Uzumaki.

Then the child grow up become an adolescent ninja who constantly searches for recognition and aspires to become a Hokage, the ninja in his village that is acknowledged as the leader and the strongest of all. As he rise, he become a partner with Sasuke which is his rival and Sakura under Kakashi. Together they become more stronger and stronger until one day Sasuke was took away from them…
